Handguns are regulated in USA, but flamethrowers are not? No laws restrict flamethrowers that shoot fire 50 feet?

Only in America could such hypocrisy, stupidity, and irresponsibility exist simultaneously.

That's because they are more dangerous to the operator than the target. I believe in your research that you missed the word or do not know the meaning of DEMILLED. Look it up. The military FT's that throw 50ft are demilled. You can make or buy what's called improvised devices but chances are, and it has happened, that you will be arrested for any improper use.
As usual the anti freedom media has spun a commercial for a useful device way out of proportion to start an uproar over a supposed problem that does not exist. Of course, people will ignore the words "legitimate uses" as is being demonstrated. The aim is to lie about being able to buy functional military FT's, which you can not do. They conveniently omit the word demilled when talking about gov't availability.
Just a passing thought. That is not a military flamethrower. It is a brush burning device.

The answer is very obvious. A handgun can do much more damage than a flame thrower can. Firstly, handguns are much more concealable, are a MUCH better option for self defense, more stopping power, kills quicker, more compact, can shoot much further, more avaliable, just overall much "deadlier".
A flame thrower on the other hand is VERY HOT when using, and the user's face and arms will increase in temperature dramatically. So basically, it is very unpleasant to fire. Literally. They are also very limited in range, kill slower, require a whole tank or two to be used, much larger therefore harder to conceal and can be used less before having to reload.
That's why!

Hey Mr. Know it all. These are used for brush clearing. How exactly would you regulate them?? How would you define them? I could make one in my garage in a couple of hours using some metal tubing, hoses and a couple of tanks. Are home made ones ok? What about having the parts to build one? To broad and a lighter could be construed as a flame thrower. Besides, just when have you heard of an attack using a flame thrower? Please get off your sanctimonious, holier than tho soapbox and maybe get outraged at DUI checkpoints.

No moron would make it 50 feet before a cop shot or arrested him if he was carrying a flamethrower.

You are wrong no both counts, hand guns are not regulated to the point of registration in most states, and dangerous weapons as flame throwers are illegal.

No one in their right mind wants to carry around a flame thrower! It is a major risk of safety for the operator and those around them!!!!
