Mouse trap/bait not working?

We recently saw 2 mice in our house so set out and bought 2 mice traps and I also made one auto bottle trap. We see the mice come out from under the kitchen unit but the only come out for a few seconds and go back under again. They dont seem to come out far but every now and then we see them across the room. We are only going to use humane traps because the mouse is just trying to live and doesn't mean any harm. We have used peanut butter, snickers, butter, cheese and mouse bait but the mouse hasn't even touched it. What can we do to encourage the mouse to go into the trap. All i an find is use peanut butter but clearly thats not working.

Hmm this is odd. We have mice and use peanut butter ( human traps :) ) they go crazy for it. If you see mice that might mean there are even more since they breed rapidly. Try seeds, Marshmallows, Gum drops, Beef jerky, Chocolate , Oats , Bacon , Bird seed , Dog food , Cat food , Candy , Raisins or nest materials like cotton. balls or string. Do know that sweets might attract other pests though so do be careful. Im glad you're using human traps! I used them once and caught a mouse keeping her as a pet, she had babies and we released her into the wild! Good luck!!! :)
