how long does it take to put on electricity with national grid?

I just got n apartment n the electricity was still on so i was slackin on callin them n switchin it to my name( its been a week since i moved in). I called national grid to get it set up n the guy told me to email them with my identification which i did n i was gunna get a call back in 2-3 days, did it switch to my name already or do i have to wait for a call back from them? And how long will it be until my power turns off is there a certain amount of days the landlord has to pay for it when i first move in? This is my first apartment
