When hiring a web developer?
When hiring a web developer do you hire them, they come build your website and then leave. Or are you going to need them to stay to help constantly run the site?
It's my first time hiring one, I want them to build the entire site. I'm not sure what to expect.

Some will arrange a maintence contract, for the most part this can all be done off site, since your site will probably be hosted on a service located elsewhere.
Get multiple quotes you might get 10/1 ranges in cost.
Don't know what kind of site you have in mind but it can be a big savings to start with a preedesigned template rather than starting from scratch, which by the way can be ore prone to bugs as well.
One source of relatively simple site templates, which can be modified to fit to your business, some designers also offer to host and install the site.

Websites needs servers to host them. So the developer will host it on a server and go. Only you should have the access to the server to modify files later. So make sure you change the server passwords, after the development process.
