Trump would be required to put his real estate empire in a blind trust while he was president. And this is the main reason why I think he doesn't really even want to be president! It means handing over all his assets to someone else, and then he can't even know what they're doing with it for 4 or 8 years. That just doesn't sound like Trump to me.

Other rich presidents--Kennedy or FDR for instance, or even the Bushes--their fortunes were family fortunes and there were still plenty of other family members to watch the store, so to speak. They were sons of privilege, born rich, they knew they didn't make all that money themselves. But Trump's empire is monolithic, it's all about Trump himself! It would be very hard for him to hand the controls to someone else, especially with his ego.

Most Presidents put their investments into a blind trust while they're in office. Interestingly, President Obama did not.

Yes. Did George Washington lose his massive farm when he became president? Did Jimmy Carter lose his peanut farm when he became president? Did the Kennedys give up all their holdings and businesses when they became president? Use your head, we're all Americans; everyone of us could be president!

    Yes.

They are supposed to go into a blind trust, but The Dumpster will openly break the law like Cheney did.

He would not be allowed to have anything to do with his businesses. His shares all have to be in a blind trust.
