Needing front brake and rotor pads as well as front calipers...is under $300 a good price including labor?

It was quoted at $700 for a 2007 civic, but the man I spoke with told me he would charge me $300 -- he said something about how he would be able to rebuild the calipers rather than ordering new ones as a way to lower the initial cost. Is this a good deal?

Sounds about right. But how do you know he's actually rebuilding the caliper? Is the car pulling to a side when braking? are the calipers leaking fluid? If not replacing/rebuilding the calipers are pointless. Don't replace them unless they're broken. Just get the rotors and pads replaced.

no way honda calipers from 2007 should need replacing , the only thing that wears any way is the rubber seal on the piston that costs $5 and rotors should never be turned on a car with ABS , only factory new rotors should be used you can buy them cheaply from japanese car specialist factors

What about rotors? I suppose he is going to turn them too. It isn't a bad price but you could want more for the money, like new rotors. I have a feeling that most of the good deal is for him.

hogwash !! there is no such thing as "rebuilding" brake calipers !! he will either not do anything to the calipers, or install other used ones + that $ 700 is WAY overpriced............ask him what the cost would be if you bought the parts and he just provided the labor, then look at sites like rockauto for the parts ; they are nowhere near the price quoted

Happy Gramps is wrong, you can rebuild them but to be honest, they arent that expensive to replace. Also, not sure you even need them replaced.
