I put my clothes on, drive down to the fire station, load up the other guys, and head out to the location of the alarm, assuming anyone had the presence of mind to actually PHONE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. That's what we do. You, on the other hand, should roll out of bed, grab some clothes, figure out if there is smoke or heat in your primary exit and then make your way outside, shouting for others (and your pets) as you go. and closing doors along the way (temporarily trapping the fire, wherever it is). If you spot a SMALL fire, on the way out, and have a fire extinguisher, get between the fire and the exit door and see if you can put out the fire.
Most residential fires start in the kitchen or with a heating appliance. You may not have time to figure it out before you get trapped and die, so don't fool around with ANY FIRE ALARM.
Any false alarm is a serious problem, since the NEXT one may not be a false alarm, yet everyone knows that last time was a "pain" to have to leave in the middle of the night for "no good reason".
Ignoring any fire alarm is a "bad idea." Disconnecting any fire alarm is not only a bad idea, it may also be a code violation, if not also a criminal act. Assuming someone else will save your life in a fire is asking for trouble.

All.
1st look down the door opening on the bottom and try to smell/see flames or smoke. Then get up and try to feel the doornob.
If fire; Someone else will deal with it as I don’t live alone (15 yrs old, f)
Maybe call 911 and jump out the window of mine even if I land hard because of my large 3 story house & i’m on the 2nd floor.
No fire; try to look for fire alarm thingy and maybe bring my parents as we turn it off / disconnect it.
After we turn it off; cover my face in the pillow & call it a day.

Just happened to me. I go look for the fire, where is everyone ? One knew I'd gone to deal with it, another heard someone moving around and assumed it was being taken care of. Not exactly like work where we're supposed to all exit the building and hang around at the muster station till it's officially all clear...

Feel the door to see if it is hot. If it is, I jump out the window. If not, open it and look for smoke/fire. If no fire, it's malfunctioning, and disconnect it.

Go look for a fire.....
This actually happened at like 6 am in my college dorm. We all bolted out of bed and were like wtf? Turns out the other roomie didn't turn on the fan in their early morning shower. The steam set it off.
