Why is it that my Syrian hamster wants to mate with another female hammy?
My girlfriend got two sister hammies. They now live separate so they don't brutally murder it each other in cold blood. So we take them out a lot. My girlfriend had one and I had the other and we let them say hi under close supervision of course and one of them keeps stickin' her pooper in the air and freezing her body like she wants to get it on and the other one seems to just ignore this. They're definitely both females for sure. What would cause the one hammy to want to get humped by another female hammy? Can she just not tell that it's another female?

Instincts most likely, she sees another Hamster so her hormones kick in gear to announce she is willing to mate. She most likely has no clue what male or female means, just what mother nature is urging her to do.
