You know, the 19th century Russian novelists, the German socialists, Italian anarchists, Chinese communists, most of them were atheists. Also the Jacobins and even some Founding Fathers. What explains this? Why do non-believers play such a crucial role in the changing of society.

You can just feel the unconditional Love (ultimate sarcasm) seeping from under his 'sheepskin jacket'!
Here's a real news flash;
No real Xtian attacks anyone, but Loves all, unconditionally!
As soon as you dis atheists and gays and.. anyone, you prove that you are no Xtian but a pretender, already living in Hell!

And we could give more example of believers playing a role in the changing of society (Kepler, Bohr, Descaartes, Pascal, Newton, Boyle, Farady, Planck, Einstein, etc)
I guess I am unsure of what you are trying to say or prove. If you are saying that leftists radicals are atheists, then yes, that is pretty much part of the definition of leftist radical. If you are saying that only athesists have changed society, then you are sadly mistaken.

What explains this?
- That you are ignorant and do no research.
Why do non-believers play such a crucial role in the changing of society.
- Because the "believers" want absolute control and the gaining of intelligence causes loos of control, they do not want that.

A combination of high intelligence, education and idealism. Often misplaced idealism, as in the case of the anarchists and communists, but there ya go.
