Do you have to notify the IRS when you get your taxes done if you receive food stamps and fuel assistance?

Update:

A retired lady I know wants to know the answer to this question. I told her to contact her case worker, and she will, but I figured I could get a quick answer for her from Yahoo Questions and Answers. Thank you,

SNAP benefits ( a long time ago called food stamps ) are not taxable, and I have no idea what "fuel assistance" is, but it's probably not taxable either...............unless your friend has some sort of income that is above what the irs allows for people with low/limited income, then she will not file tax returns

There is no place on the tax return where you need to show these benefits.

Receipt of these benefits may figure into whether the person is a dependent or not, but your friend is not asking that so best to tell her that she doesn't need to provide that information.
