If I don't live in a dorm would I still be involved in college activities?

I go to college next year, and I'm not planning on living in a dorm because the college I want to attend is like a 10 minute drive from where I live, so it'd be kind of a waste of money to pay for a dorm. I was wondering if even though I wouldn't be living on campus, if i'd still get the 'college life' experience? like parties and what not.

Yes, you can still join most activities and participate. Most colleges have activities' fairs where you can meet the people and decide whether to join a particular group. Fraternities and sororities have rush parties. It's pretty common for members of both not to live in the sorority or fraternity house.

Living that close to campus, you won't have a problem getting involved in activities. Living in the dorm does provide you with some experiences that off-campus life doesn't, but it's not as though you'll be commuting for an hour each day. You may have to make an extra effort to get to know people by joining clubs and other activities.

Yes but most off campus students still feel more isolated than on Campus students
