The French scholar Alfred Grosser has argued that whereas in 1944 the French view had been "no enemy but Germany," by 1960 it had shifted to "no friend but Germany." Yes. Ever see the photo of Chancellor Willy Brandt on his knees at Auschwitz? That's just one of many ways the current German state has apologized and otherwise offered amends.

Not formally, I don't believe. Obama should apologize for his willful harm, actions and inactions toward humanity. The people who voted for him should especially issue an apology to this nation.
