This question is for the politics section The government has just found out the petrol has been over priced 25 to 30?

The government has been in the habit of saying "If you don't like the price shop around competition keeps the prices down Now the government is thinking about an inquiry so . Has private enterprise in the oil industry become to big like the banks Toxic loans

    There has never really been a free market in petroleum and petroleum products. In fact the entire history of oil can be told in terms of price-fixing and periodic artificial shortages. One of the first was in 1906 when the Royal Navy decided to convert its fleet from coal to diesel.

    And who's to say what's overpriced? They set their prices for maximum profit. To do any less would be anti-capitalistic! They have a fiduciary responsibility to their investors! And blah blah blah.
