Just got a new puppy and I kicked it by accident and feel really bad.?
Our puppy is 8 weeks old and I'm afraid I hurt it. I accidentally nudged him with my foot and his little body slid and he started to whine really loud and it broke my heart because he is so fragile and I should have been careful my little brother also nudged him but he's only 10 so it could have been that heavy of a foot , but the puppy also whined then. I glided my hands around him multiple times to see if he was hurt but he didn't make a peep , any tips besides looking down where I walk so this doesn't happen again?

just kidding. if the puppy seems fine, you shouldn't worry. it's just an accident. dogs are much stronger than you think they are.

Don't feel bad. This happens from time to time when you own a pet that runs around freely. You can't have your eyes everywhere and it's not like you did it on purpose, is it?
I have a cat that absolutely always has to run around/between my feet, especially when it's so dark I can't see a thing. I can't even count how often I nudged him anymore. Just pet your puppy after a nudge so it knows you still love it and watch it for injuries. If it moves strangely, hides for a long time or stops feeding take it to a veterinary. But in all 13 years as a cat owner I never nudged my hairy monster-kitty so bad that he was actually injured. Mostly he gets angry at me and scratches me for revenge. After that he meows really pitifully and I have to pet him for half an hour so he can feel like God in France again. Lol - my cat is manipulative like that ;-)

Puppies are usually relatively tough and his response was probably more out of shock at what happened. Two episodes like this is bad news, so be more careful. If your puppy lost consciousness at all, then you need an emergency vet to check him over. If not, just make sure you are all more careful and see how he is over the next few hours. If he continues to whine, or deteriorates at all, then you'll need a vet.
How to avoid doing this? Take more care!!!

If your puppy is so tiny that you do not notice him around your feet then keep him crated when you are busy and not giving him any attention.
There is no need to allow a puppy to follow you around ALL the time.

You and your family must learn to be more careful and vigilant at all times as to the location of the pup.
Accidents rarely happen to responsible owners.
Train the dog not be under foot at all times. It can be done. Should my dogs crowd me too much I just say 'Move' and they do.

This has happened to me multiple times. I'm a huge animal lover, and I've had dogs all my life (at one point I had 21 dogs!) but every so often the little ones get in my way and I might accidentally step on them. It's okay, as long as you don't hurt them on purpose they'll still love you and you should be guilt free.

In my opinion this puppy should be returned to the BYBer you bought it from.
You and your family abusive and do not deserve to own this or any other animal.
