The brand doesn't matter.
So long as the computer and monitor have common connector, like VGA or DVI or HDMI, they'll be fine.

Yes. The old monitor will have a nine pin connector, make sure your new computer has the same.

As long as they both use the same type of connection, e.g. VGA or HDMI, they should be compatible.
