How come Kim Davis wasn't such a stickler for biblical law when it comes to divorce?

People sometimes do things for the wrong reasons. Some people also use their bible to thump others over the head with. Maybe doing so helps the pain in their eyes from all those logs stuck in them?

If this is her personal vendetta, she will be found out if she's doing this for mere notoriety instead of honestly trying to stand up for her beliefs. God will not let her get away with such shenanigans "in His Name" if so. From what I've seen she's not exactly being humble about all this... until GoFundMe.org refused to allow her to raise funds to pay her attorneys. Her tune has since changed.

But I am not her. She must answer to God for whatever she does. Does that make everyone happy? Probably not.

Kim Davis means nothing.. Americans are making a big deal about a common criminal. If she can't respect the law of the land, she shouldn't be a government official. What the f^ck is wrong with you Americans, are you all religious lunatics?

It does seem hypercritical to deny anyone a lawful marriage. Although the bible condemns homosectuality Jesus also said "Render unto Caesar, what is Caesars." This refers to the authorities edicts. If an edict clearly states that gay couples have the right to marry then this is the authorities law that must be followed. This doesn't impact straight couples marrying, nor does it affect anyones religious beliefs. Denying gay couples marrying will not change anything, they're not going to stop being gay if marriage is denied them.

Kim Davis is a brand of Christian for whom Biblical morality is something for OTHER people to follow, not her.

Ironically, since she is a divorcee, a clerk in her position, using her same mentality, could easily have denied her a marriage license too based on this Biblical morality (if people are allowed to "follow their conscience" instead of the law), and the Bible clearly frowns on divorce, whereas there is not a single word explicitly prohibiting Gay marriage in the Bible.

1) She does not have the power to grant anyone a divorce. The claim that she has done such is nonsense. It is an invalid argument.

2) Her two divorce took place before her conversion to Christian in in 2011. Prior to becoming a Christian she was not a stickler for biblical law. However, now that she is are you suggesting that she be a hypocrite and not follow her beliefs? (Your question implies that you think that would be wrong....)

3) Interesting that in several other states they HAVE accommodated people of faith. They have allow them excuse themselves from processing or performing such services as long as someone else was available to do. Arkansas has refused to do that. They insist that she and she alone must process all licenses and that they bear her signature.

However the judge who ordered her into jail then allowed her deputies to issue the licenses and to allow them to be done without her signature??????????? The very thing she was asking the state to allow (Duh!!!!)

Wouldn't it have made more sense to accommodate her faith by doing that to begin with (as they have in other states) rather then jailing her and then make the same compromise that she was asking for?

She is a professed Christian and knows "she" is forgiven each time she sins but can't seem to find it in her Christian heart not to sit in ignorant judgment which again is a sin which "she" will be forgiven for. The real truth is that Adam and Eve did not change what God had planned to do. Fill the earth with righteous people. God took billions of years to make this planet habitable and meant to fill it with righteous people. So he has waited this long to get enough righteous people. By means of a resurrection during judgment day.

She's just another choose as I please kind of person. Judging by her overall lack of fruit, she is not Christian. Such people misrepresent Christ and his Christians. They embarrass us all. We don't claim her.

Because Christians never make a stink about religious rules that they don't feel like obeying.
