Liberals: what, to you, is the worst thing Obama did in office? And Conservatives: what, to you, is the best thing Obama did in office?
Looking for SERIOUS answers and civil debate, please. "Nothing, he sucks" and "destroying the country" are not useful answers, nor is "Obama is the bestest ever P.S. Bush sux". No president is all good or all bad, so I'm interested to see where people think he's succeeded and/or failed. Thank you.
Come on, guys...seeing a number of (very valid) criticisms from the left and almost nothing meaningful from the right. We have some very smart conservatives on this board and I'm genuinely interested in their opinions (and not in a "haha I made you praise Obama" way).
Thanks, everyone. I'm disappointed not to get a single reasonable answer from the conservative side...I tried.
There were a bunch of good answers, but TheKitten answered first, so gets best answer. Thanks again for the discussion, it was interesting to read.

I believe the worst thing Obama did in office was refusing to implement thoroughly transformational changes on the financial sector. He had a historic chance and he missed it by listening to too many ''status quo'' advisors.

The worse thing he did was let the republicans take over congress. I think that Obama did an excellent job in spite, of the republican's constant obstructionism and lies. I believe that during his last year in office he will do even more...for the people.
On the other hand, the republicans in congress have done more harm to this country than good. They chose to increase their personal wealth at the middle class expense. They have wasted time, and our money, on endless Benghazi investigations that should have been used to create jobs repairing our infrastructures.
The reason I bothered mentioning congress is to point out what great things could have been accomplished had they worked together, with the President in a bipartisan effort for the greater good of our country....which they refused to do.

Worst: Releasing 5 for 1, NDAA, expansion of the patriot act, etc.
Best: Certain parts of Obama care I agree with, like not denying people coverage for pre-existing conditions.

He is terrible with foriegn policy, thats really it. Other than that, hes been pretty good. He's been cleaning up after GWB's mess and battling a GOP congress for the last 5 years, not much he can do.

As a Liberal, I believe the worst thing he did was the Afghan Surge. It didn't do much and cost way too much.

As a Conservative I can't think of one single positive thing he's done. When he packs his bags preparing to leave office and hopefully America that will be a positive

Tough call for me. I suppose extending the PATRIOT act or signing the NDAA 2013, which frayed our rights pretty badly.
