    Halloween (1978)

    The Haunting (1963)

    Poltergeist (1982)

    Trick 'r Treat (2007)

And the 1985 episode of the TV anthology series "Tales from the Darkside", called "Halloween Candy"

That list is plenty long, but I often turn to the classics. The original "Frankenstein" is great, and a lesser known but great film is "The Island of Lost Souls", the first screen attempt (I believe) at the Dr. Moreau story. These won't scare as much as the modern horror films will or can, but for me, the classics laid the groundwork for the horror movie genre, and it seems only fitting that they get first dibs on Halloween.
