You know what irritates me most? The gay pride flag doesn't even look nice. They chose the wrong hues for each colour strip, so it just looks ridiculously garish and not nice at all. I think it's especially the green stripe. So out of place.

In any case though, nobody "owns" the rainbow. To be honest I do think it's kind of sad that we now associate something so universal and multi-interpretive as the rainbow, as directly to do with the sexual tendencies of an extremely small minority of hominid primates.

Even if I agreed with people engaging in homosexual activity, I'd still think something was a bit wrong there. It seems so forced.

    neither own the rainbow

The first Biblical reference to a rainbow is in the account of the covenant God made with Noah and his offspring after the Flood survivors came out of the ark. Ge 9:8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your offspring after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the animals, and all the living creatures of the earth with you, all those that came out of the ark—every living creature of the earth. 11 Yes, I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all flesh be destroyed by the waters of a flood, and never again will a flood bring the earth to ruin.”

12 And God added: “This is the sign of the covenant that I am making between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations. 13 I put my rainbow in the cloud, and it will serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring a cloud over the earth, then the rainbow will certainly appear in the cloud. 15 And I will certainly remember my covenant that I made between me and you and every living creature of every kind; and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the rainbow will occur in the cloud, and I will certainly see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind on the earth.”

17 God repeated to Noah: “This is the sign of the covenant that I establish between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Isa 54: 9 “This is like the days of Noah to me.

Just as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more cover the earth,

So I swear that I will no more become indignant toward you or rebuke you.

10 For the mountains may be removed

And the hills may be shaken,

But my loyal love will not be removed from you,

Nor will my covenant of peace be shaken,” says Jehovah, the One having mercy on you.

Christians. the gays just stole it.. the rainbow is a promise reminder from God that he would never flood the earth again

    Gen 9

11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

The rainbow is a product of nature. No one can own it. Not gays, not Christians, not even God.

Who created everything, including the rainbow? Gays or God? Checkmate.

No one can own a natural phenomenon. The symbol has been used for many things over thousands of years and no one group owns it any more than one group owns the word 'marriage'.
