Why do so many people dislike the new Google logo?

People complain that it looks too simple and childish...but isn't that what logos are these days?

From app design to logos, everything is getting simpler, that's the fashion.

Just look at the first iOS and iOS now. Although it's better, the design is much simpler.

Or PS1 and PS2's start up screen...then PS4 start up screen. Simpler.

Even the Windows logo went from being a flag like logo to four basic rectangles from an angle.

Google has just simplified its logo like every one else has done...what were people expecting? A Google logo with stage lights, in fancy writing and bold??

Its really nice. But according to me,it was the older logo that defined google-the all-knowing one!!! The new logo represents young minds and filled with enthusiasm. I am sure they had something in mind when they designed this!!

Google has got a record for constant redesigning/tinkering its logo and introducing "novelty" logos to reflect notable dates.

Part of the reason for this iteration is that serifs do not translate well on mobile and low resolution monitors, so you might think this is long overdue.

    People do not like change.

Though, I personally don't like it because I feel like they simplified the logo itself to the point where it almost looks generic. I like the new little "G" icon, though. But the full logo is just very generic to me.
