Do you have Senior Moments when cooking?

We were canning tomatoes yesterday. The last batch this summer, alas. I always forget something. This time I forgot to heat up the spare tomato juice to fill the cans and had to wait several minutes after filling the cans with tomatoes and lemon juice to top them off.

edit - the way I learned never to misspell dessert is to see the "strawberry shortcake" in the middle of the word, LOL.

My worst was making this elaborate layered ice cream cake. It takes hours for the different layers to be frozen. So I slaved over this and was taking it to the freezer in the garage. I thought of something (God knows what) and swung around and forgot about the delicate way I was holding it. I had that terrible moment when you see what is going to happen and try to somehow save it. Nope. Whole thing on the garage floor. Totally unsalvageable. I sat down and cried. Then I screamed. Then I started over.....

I know where you went wrong...and possibly the source of your problem.

It was the Kindle.

You need to read a REAL book.

There is "black magic" in those devices.

You think you're just reading but little known to the general public the makers of Kindle and other such devices hypnotize you..you then fall asleep and some where in the world a pod with a duplicate you is forming. At some point the duplicate you will awaken and begin to take over your life. The longer you sleep with your kindle the more of your memories the pod will absorb. So while you can continue to read and do other things DO not EVER fall asleep with the device on.

Made a boiled fruit cake a month or two ago and did the same, but it was only in oven 35 minutes too long so was actually still edible, but dry and crusty on top.

Came home drunk many years ago, threw a frozen pizza in the oven. Never took it out of the box.

Thank goodness for smoke alarms!

Unfortunately, yes. It usually involves forgetting to put the salt in the bread. Still makes bread, but rather flat tasting bread.
