I don't think we really will "provide" nuclear capabilities to anyone. They will do it themselves. Do you think you can stop a history in one time frame and never move forward?

The US has not given anyone nuclear capability in the mid east. Your confusing us giving someone nuclear capability vs giving them the ability at some point to develop nuclear capability. Lets face it, since Iran already has a nuclear power plant, they already have nuclear capability. Your question should be, why would we allow them to weaponize their nuclear capability? Well you can not prevent that for ever. If someone wants to develop that capability, they will develop it with our without the UN nuclear committee.

I dont know who you mean by "we" or what you are referring to. Israel has nuclear weapons, Pakistan has nuclear weapons.
