How do I sync my carbs if the bike doesn't run?
My 1982 gs550 doesn't run and I believe it's because the carbs aren't synced.
How do I sync them without the bike running??

Not a fun process. Make sure the fuel petcock is Off.
Remove all of the air-intake hoses and air-box to give you a view of all the sliders. The rest is a lot easier with two persons but doable with one.
Look at the positions of each one of the sliders with the throttle closed, than at fully open. They all should be the same, but probably not. What needs to be done is to measure the air intake openings at the bottom of the sliders, they should all be the same no matter what position the throttle is in- Closed, one quarter, half, three-quarter ETC all the same.
You need to adjust the cable tension on each of the carbs so that the throttle junction bar moves each the same amount.
After that it should start so you can use a vacuum gauge.

It will run with carbs not synced if anyone with half a brain worked on it. Syncing is fine tuning. Something else is wrong

Dude, really. The SHOP MANUAL has an initial setup for the carbs to get it running from scratch. Oops... no shop manual. I am very, very sorry, dude.
