I have a kz305 engine that runs great apart from a small clutch issue.

When running and put into first gear the bike won’t go back into neutral gear, however when bike is switched off it goes back into neutral no problem. Also when in neutral the bike tries to pull forward slightly.

I have done a recent oil and filter change and also checked the clutch cable is pulled right in at the engine.

My guess is the clutch cup is worn so I intend to operate but firstly I’d like to know if there’s anything else to look out for?

Is it definitely the clutch cup?

Also clutch lever is quite heavy to pull, anything I can do to lighten that?

I have a motorcycle that’s had a different engine put in. I know the engine is a Kawasaki 305cc but I’m unsure if model, is there an oil suitable for all engines? Also how will I find out what oil filter I require?

When using a 12v battery charger would it take the charge back out of the battery if you switch the battery charger power off but leave it attached to the battery?

Looking for length of the bike so I can work out what size trailer i need to transport it

The petcock has 2 tubes running from it, one thicker and a thinner. My assumption is that the thicker one is for the reserve tank and to prime, and the thinner one is the main fuel line?? However the thinner line seems to be pump operated so how do I know it works? The bike doesn't run so I can't do any tests while bike is running.

I took off the carbs and cleaned them, I took off the petcock and cleaned that. Spark plugs are bone dry after truly img to start the bike.

Can any one give me a set of checks I need to do to get the fuel flowing?

All seems to be fine on my bike now. It started and idled at 900 revs. I then switched it off and couldn't start it again. The engine turns over well but it doesn't seem as if it is connecting with the spark as it's not even trying to start.

Spark is good, compression is good, engine turns over well, carbs are clean, fresh petrol in tank, pit oak cleaned and working, petrol filter on petrol line, it started previously.

What do I need to check next to get it running???

When trying to fire up the bike today the wire melted!! I was trying to turn the bike over for an extended amount of time but the wire got very hot and the plastic coating melted off the whole wire??

How do you check if the petrol is flowing through motorcycle carbs properly??

My 1982 gs550 doesn't run and I believe it's because the carbs aren't synced.

How do I sync them without the bike running??

I've rebuilt my 1982 gs550, have a good spark from coils, engine is turning nice and fuel is getting into carbs, but it's not trying to catch/start up.

Seems to me like the fuel delivery??

Any ideas on how to trouble shoot the issue? Where's best place to start?

I've took my motorbike to pieces to do some repairs to it. I have no idea about wiring and thought I could just reconnect everything by memory.

When reconnecting I ended up with a yellow with wire/green track and a green wire that I couldn't find a connection point for.

My bike now won't start. Power is going to solenoid and when trying to start it just makes 1 click. Battery is fully charged and the lights don't dim when I try to start it. But the engine doesn't turn over at all.

Is this wire important?? What does it do?? Or should I be looking for other issues?? Apart from them 2 wires all electrics seem good and the bike is mechanically sound.

Any advice?? Ideas??
