Can you still love after being hurt?

I'm 20 and I've already had multiple break ups that effect my relationships today.

I've came to the conclusion that guys are jerks. All of them. I've been let down, cheated on, lied to.

But I've recently met this guy. He's nice to me. He actually comes and visits me daily. I'm not sure if he's lied to me. He flat out told me that he's loyal to a girl he likes even if we aren't dating. Which I hope is true. He hasn't even mentioned sex. Which I love because that's like the first sign that he's a player.

Anyway, I get mad, upset and insecure when he doesn't talk to me. I start over thinking. Thinking he's doing something that my ex's would have done.

He says he's getting hurt because he's trying but I dont believe anything. Can I open up, let the past go and stop wanting so much attention? He said I was being difficult. I hate hearing that. Help.

Of course you can love after being hurt. When someone who you are in love with during a longterm relationship hurts you it is far worse than being dumped a few times & takes what seems like forever to recover. So many people have had it far worse than you. What you need to do is just let yourself heal. You are holding onto the past & need to stop allowing it to hurt your potential future. Just open up & get things off your chest telling him that you are just insecure & you really need him to reassure you of how he feels about you so you can let go. Keep taking it slow & you'll heal just fine & be happy.
