Are there any potting mixes that aren't infested with fungus gnats? I bought home depot miracle-gro mix and it was INFESTED.?

I heard somewhere that you can make your own soil-free potting mix by mixing perlite and peat moss, and fungus gnats have a hard time surviving in there. You would have to fertilize more often though because they lack nutrients. I also read somewhere that you can thoroughly water a plant with a mixture of 1:4 hydrogen peroxide to water and that will burn the larvae to death.

I also agree with you that fungus gnats suck, the little f*ckers infested all of my plants thanks to a contaminated plant I got a while back.

Only buy the best brands from garden stores or plant nurseries as they are the best.No point telling you brands as I live in Australia and our brands would be unknown in the US.

you could try making your own potting mix by adding peat /compost to soil with fertilizer or vermiculite
