Does my horse have an ulcer?

My 9 year old mare has recently started tossing her head as well as biting at her sides when we lunge. No saddle or bridle, just sport boots and halter and lunge rope are on her when we lunge but she s also done this while riding.

I was thinking maybe an ulcer but wanted to hear other opinions as well.

Thanks in advance!

It's possible. If your horse seems somehow uncomfortable and is not behaving like herself, then she probably is uncomfortable, but the source of this discomfort could be a number of things. I suggest making an appointment with your vet to get to the bottom if the issue.
