English Saddle Fit - For Me?
Hello!
I am 5'3-5'4. I am currently riding in an 18" wintec all purpose saddle but am looking to buy a bates all purpose saddle but it is 16". I will be doing hunter/jumper type riding with this saddle. Should this saddle work for me? My hip to knee measures just under 18".
1 AnswerHorses6 years agoDoes my horse have an ulcer?
My 9 year old mare has recently started tossing her head as well as biting at her sides when we lunge. No saddle or bridle, just sport boots and halter and lunge rope are on her when we lunge but she s also done this while riding.
I was thinking maybe an ulcer but wanted to hear other opinions as well.
Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersHorses6 years agoWhat do you feed your OTTB?
I am purchasing an 8 year old OTTB and she will have hay 24/7 but was wondering what grain (if any) do you use to help keep weight on them?
3 AnswersHorses6 years agoHorses destroying pastures?
I have had horses for over ten years and this year we decided to give up some of our lawn and put a fence around it to make more pasture room because the other 2 pastures will not grow back. This new pasture we made this year has been planted for over 10 years so the grass should be well rooted and it has always grown very well before but now it no longer grows since the horses have been on it.
What can I do to get my pasture to grow back? I've thought about replanting a pasture and keeping horses off of it for a few seasons but I am afraid the same thing will happen.
2 AnswersHorses6 years agoWhat do you use to make horse jumps?
I don't want to use PVC because it can shatter, but besides that and wood, what can i use for the rails (jump poles)?
2 AnswersHorses6 years agoIs Jockey Club the only thoroughbred registry?
I am thinking about breeding my 8 yr old OTTB. Is Jockey club the only place to register a foal and if so does that horse have to race
5 AnswersHorses6 years agoMy OTTB won't ride on grass?
She is an 8yr old OTTB who has not raced since 12. She does perfectly fine in a dirt arena but when you try to ride her on grass she starts to throw her head like crazy.
I have not tried to ride her like this my self but the seller I am buying her from has told me this. I have never run into a horse who does this and was wondering if anyone else has?
