Is it that bad for republicans in Washington to get anything done after all they have both houses?

Update:

Smaller government is good but they are doing nothing to get to a smaller government. There is no resistance to stop the democrats from growing the government. Obama can veto all he wants but the fact is nothing gets to Obama's desk; it is like all republican legislatures quit doing their work out of fear of the veto pen. If they don't even want to try then why wasting tax dollars on them.

Do you think that Obama is likely to sign any law passed by Republicans - especially during a run up to an election? He'd be handing them campaign fodder.

Republicans have had control of both houses for most of the 21st century, why do you think our economy is suffering? Trust me, you don't want them to get things done.

    Bad? No. Impossible.

But When Obama became President and had all of Congress why didn't he do more? Like make illegals legal? Hum?

All the promises in that last election. Oh my God. But still nothing but slander and lies. It worked in the last election so stay the course. Why do anything at all if people are dumb enough to vote for you even after breaking all of your promises. Just keep repeating Benghazi and Emails and every thing should go as planned.

Senate democrats use the rules to prevent votes from being taken and Obama threatens to veto anything he doesn't like.

Which they just got AND we have a obstructionist president who believes that compromise means doing whatever he wants! The demoncrats had control of all three (both houses and the presidency) and we see how badly that went!

I can see the point considering the last "shutdown" all they did was close parks and war memorials and lay off "nonessential workers" (so why do they even have jobs?) and pay for extra security and barricades to keep people OUT when it was cheaper just to let them in!

    Nothing needs to "be done"

Fact of the matter is, we simply just don't need much Government in our lives

They certainly seem to think that way. I'd fire all of them, too, if the alternative wasn't worse.

The problem is the extreme ones think negotiation means 'our way or no way'
