Is it normal for guys to straighten their hair and want it silky and soft?

I'm in the process of growing my hair out past my shoulders and tired of wavy/curly hair. It gets messy and really frizzy and I'm done with that. I want to have a new look and have silky soft straight hair. Is there anything wrong with that?

    Nowadays it isn't normal for guys to have long hair at all, nevermind whether it's silky and soft.

    There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not common.
