Is there a way I can watch movies from a USB memory stick on my tablet that has a HDMI input?

    A tablet usually has HDMI output-not input. Use Netflix.

    Does your tablet have a USB port and is that port compatible with your memory stick? Usually you can watch movies off from a USB memory stick but sometimes the playback can be stuttery rather than smooth.

    The HDMI port is output only and for displaying your tablet output on your TV.

    no. that would violate copyright laws and the technology was designed to ensure that you can't do that
