What do you think of this horse?

Hes schooling 2'9-2'11 and can go higher. I would use him for hunters, possibly eventing later on, but he would be my college mount

There are some things I like a lot about him. Unfortunately, for me they're outweighed by two things:

He's very green. He's rushing and scrambling over the jumps; he hasn't got his lead changes; he's not carrying himself properly, and so on. I looked at your profile to see your experience level, and I don't think you're ready for this horse. He needs a confident, experienced rider to bring him along, and someone who just went to their first show and who has trouble figuring out her horse's leads isn't that.

More importantly, he's a little off. He never tracks up properly at the trot. The inside hind tends to have a "hitch" in it, and he's threading. He's heavy on the forehand.

Sorry not to be more encouraging; I'm sure the "right" horse is out there waiting for you.

He looks amazing, very green but how much you could handle is up to you. He does rush his jumps a bit but thats probably more excitement which always adds some excitement to you rides! He also looks quite flat in his flatwork (not working his hindquarters properly) but those are all things that could be worked on if you were willing to put a lot of effort in and maybe get help from an instructor?

I like him a lot. especially his strong loins and back. He looks quite steady and rhythmic on the flat. A bit quick o/f but this will giveou something to work on in school. He looks quite suitable for the two disciplines you wish to use him for. Very nice!

  • It looks like he's off in the back. RH, I believe. I would pass.
