Long story short, my teacher isn't helping me, the video she's telling me to watch isn't helping, and I'm frustrated-- please, help me solve:

11/8 x= 1/12 - 5/14
find least common factor: 12 and 14 both go into 84 1/12*7=7/84 , 5/14*6=6/84
11/8 x=7/84-6/84
simplify
11/8 x= - 23/84
divide both sides of the equation by 11/8 to isolate x
x=-46/231
