As much as I would have liked to see him remain a Cap, he wasn't the phenom he used to be. And he certainly wasn't worth $6M to be a third-pairing defenseman. Caps have quite a few good defensive prospects in the pipeline. Hopefully they can find someone to feed Ovechkin on the power play. Carlson and Niskanen need work in that area.

Mike Green cost too much against The Salary Cap, that's why The Capitals let him go. He was the 3rd Highest Paid Player on the Team. Only Ovechkin and Backstrom made more.

yes it is going to be less scoring without him, alzner is unfortunately not good enough to replace
