Physics homework help!?

A coin is placed on a stereo record that is revolving with a period of 1.80 seconds.

In what direction is the acceleration of the coin if any?

Update:

I would really appreciate any help! I did the rest of the packet except this question. You do not have to give me the answer, but how to start it would be wonderful! Thank you!!

Instead of thinking of a top view, try and imagine what the coin does horizontal. If you re having trouble picturing this, hold up one finger (let s call it finger A) in front of your face and draw horizontal circles around finger A with a second (Finger B). As you will notice, Finger B will keep passing Finger A. We can conclude Finger B horizontally accelerates towards Finger A in one direction, and once B passes A, the acceleration changes directions to continue the path.

Now think back to the coin looking from above. If the coin is Finger B and some place/direction on the record player is Finger A, how could we represent the coins acceleration in a way similar to our fingers???

Or... pretend the coin is tied to a string witch is also tied somewhere on the record player. we want the coin to go in a circle and know strings can only apply a force in one single direction at any time... recall that F=ma
