How excited are you that we have found new member of our family tree, namely Homo naledi?

Oh man..... I cannot even imagine how excited all those tiny little girls were who were selected to go down that hole!! It doesn't look like Mr Naledi is so much directly related to us modern folks, but he was sure one of the branches.

Who could even imagine such a find - so much material. And from the PBS program, it doesn't sound as if they're even started on the site.

Also the grouping of bodies - old and young with NO other species! That is too cool right there.

Not too excited. Like many other such claims it will probably be found to be vastly overstated.

For a sober assessment of the finds read this.

It's an interesting find. it's too bad the bones can't be dated properly due to there not being good geological time frame. It would be nice to know whether or not they are in the direct ancestral line, but that's difficult to tell anyway.

    The whole story is fascinating.

But I see one comment on this Biology board from CRR who is not impressed. You would think he is a biologist with expertise in evolution. You would be wrong. CRR is a Young Earth Creationist Engineer. He has made statements that evolution is a "false religion" /question/index?qid=20150... That life on earth has existed for "A little over 6,000 years" /question/index?qid=20150... and man and other "kinds" were supernaturally created during a single week http://tinyurl.com/pcsky65 . Not a surprise that he would ignore the science and asks us to look at a site. OK, let's look at the credentials of that blogger.

Ahhh... Dr. Wile is not a biologist and has no expertise in anything outside of Chemistry, and we find "He is best known for the "Exploring Creation with..." series of textbooks written for junior high and high school students who are being educated at home. He has also just released an elementary science series!" http://blog.drwile.com/?p=13775 You really are predictable CRR and never disappoint.

We are still waiting for CRR's credible evidence for his statement that "Modern human, Neanderthal, and Homo Erectus are all descendents of Adam and Eve and we are all varieties within the one human kind."

    /question/index?qid=20150... http://tinyurl.com/ojftrd2

CRR continues to ignore the admonition of Louis Pasteur. You remember Pasteur CRR? You used a statement of his from a private letter where he expressed his personal beliefs .... for many of your previous comments AS A "SOURCE" FOR YOUR PSEUDOSCIENCE. Let me refresh your memory: /question/index?qid=20150... . And then stopped using it when I pointed out what Pasteur felt about people of CRR's ilk: "religion has no more place in science than science has in religion" ... "In each one of us there are two men, the scientist and the man of faith or of doubt. These two spheres are separate, and woe to those who want to make them encroach upon one another in the present state of our knowledge! " http://tinyurl.com/ka82anb
