Besides seniority, what determines who gets a call back sooner from a furlough?
There is a group of dudes at my railyard that were with the company for about the same time and all of them started training and came to the yard at the same time as well. All of them were at one point furloughed, but they keep on calling back a few core favorites from the group and its the ones that are actually hard working. Could this play into the fact as to why the others didn't hardly get calls to come back to work? I know that with one dude who hasn't been called back yet keeps putting the company on blast about it on the company's Facebook page and I don't know if word got back to HR about that posting what he is posting and this is why he hasn't been back. I kept texting him to quit doing that or he'll get into trouble for it but he wouldn't listen. Do they also blackball people like that who keep putting the company on blast like that too and who are furloughed?

Is the job you have a union job? The Class 1 railroads are all union. Being union jobs, the furloughed employees are recalled in seniority order. Your friend would be wise to be careful about what he says though. You get on their radar you can become a target for discipline.

Hint. The ones that actually work get called back first where ever possible.
Seniority is the major factor.
The posts of your friend are not helping him to get a call back.
Be aware your seniority days are probably not identical.but very close to each other.

I am furloughed yearly from the IRS, the recall list has a number of factors including time in grade and yearly reviews - if everyone has the TIG, then tie-breakers are based on reviews and whatever your union has set up.
