Automatic Transmissions: Tiptronic? Dual Clutch: DCT, PDK?

I've always preferred my cars in the flavor of manual transmission but I would like to know the difference between the Tiptronic, Dual Clutch, CVT.

I'm in the market for a fun crossover and test drove the Porsche Macan S and Audi Q3/SQ5 Quattro yesterday. The Macan had the PDK, I'm assuming this is what Porsche calls their Dual Clutch system. The Audi came with the Tiptronic. Neither of these cars have a CVT but how does the CVT compare to the two former? How do the Tiptronic and PDK compare to one another?

    The PDK is the fastest shifting dual clutch transmission available and is known as the best in the business. The Tiptronic is one of the first dual clutch transmissions offered in everyday cars starting with 1st gen Porsche Boxsters, then later Audi’s and in 2006+ VW GTI’s.

    Both the PDK and Tiptronic versions of VW/Audit/Porsche are actually quicker accelerating than manual transmission versions because they shift gears faster than what is humanly physically possible. But Manual will always be more fun.

    CVT has no gears. It feels like it keeps revving up without changing gears. That means you hear a loud buzzing noise at higher speeds. The advantage to the CVT is that there is less of a load, which means better fuel economy. The power is transferred to the wheels more efficiently. CVT is the wrong way to go if you want fun. A conventional automatic is more fun than a CVT in my opinion.

    audi HAS A dual clutch ON MANY CARS AS WELL AND yes THE porsche VERSION IS CALLED pdk! The CVT not A REAL racing TYPE OF TRANNY BUT IS EFFICIENT FOR GAS! the dual clutch IS faster AT SHIFTING THAN A person CAN B AN IS Ferrari RACING TECHNOLOGY AT WORK! the Dual clutch IS-THE MOST FUN TO DRIVE AND TO PLAY WITH AND IS Lighter AND HAS FEWER MOVING PARTS IN IT! The TIPTRONIC is basically a very efficient OLDER type trans many with SHIFT PADDLES on them! They are CRISP and SMOOTH as well, but the DUAL CLUTCH is the wave of the FUTURE! LONGER LASTING with fewer moving parts in it! BYE NOW!
