Why are Man City fans piping up and getting cocky?

Is a 2-1 win over the 14th placed Bundesliga side really anything special? Especially when you needed a penalty and an own goal to do it.

In the context of the last week or two, the dismal performance vs West Ham and the footballing lesson you received at the Lane I'd say this is another poor result to add to the string of increasingly poor result City have been having.

Well... Being a Man City fan I don't really take any offense from that statement. Yeah I guess I agree that City fans have been a bit too cocky in general, but it's not really a bad thing. City hardly ever wins in Europe, so when they do the fans need to savour the moment! In the Premier League, yes, City has really dropped in form, but its still early and anything can happen!

Because the entire Premier League wins when a Premier League team wins a Champions League match - are you unaware of the UEFA coefficient? It is increasingly likely that the Premier League will LOSE its fourth automatic place in the Champions League in 2016/17. Italy is closing fast. God knows Arsneal and Chelsea didn't help yesterday. So, good for Manchester and England that BOTH teams won today.

The country coefficient is used to rank the football associations of Europe, and thus determine the number of clubs from an association that will participate in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The UEFA ranking determines the number of teams competing in the season after the next, not in the first season after the publication of the ranking. Thus, the rankings at the end of the 2015–16 season determine the team allocation by association in the 2017–18 (not 2016–17) UEFA season; however, the actual teams that will be participating in the 2016–17 UEFA season are determined at the end of the 2015–16 season when the individual association classifications and national cups are finalized.

It's a great feeling to win a Champions League game, maybe you'd know if you actually played in one every once in a while, LOL.

Haven't even qualified for years, silly spuds, LMAO.

The only "footballing lesson" that was taught at White Hart Lane was the offside rule being explained to the incompetent linesmen.

When your win ratio in Europe is like 17% you have to grasp the straws when they present themselves, rofl.
