More anxiety and Depression coming with Autumn and Winter? HOW or WHAT can I do?

Update:

Has anyone has any success with those sun lamps and should I get one? I hate this time of the year, I can feel myself already beginning to close down. And I am not even in a room with a window, my body can just tell! How is that possible? I am on an anti depressant, but it seems to not be very efficient this time of the year. Summers are wonderful! Help?

When you start feeling anxious, it is important to remind yourself to relax and consider things that are positive for you. Making a list of what makes you happy, even the little things, could help you be reminded of what is working in your life. Deep breathing and stretching can help you ease muscle tension and take care of the physical symptoms of anxiety too. Try activities that you like in order to get your mind off of the anxiety as well. Activities like working out, journaling, listening to music, or reading a book are all good options to distract you. Try to relax and take time to do those kinds of activities to see if they help.

I would consider seeking professional help like a therapist, school counselor, teacher or a psychiatrist. Talk to a family member that can help you talk about your feelings. Please know that you are not alone! If you would like to discuss this further reach out to a Crisis Hotline in your area and speak with a trained counselor by phone, chat, text or email.

Whatever you plan to do, please keep reaching out and take care!

    Take care,

    NK, Counselor

I've read how supplementing with vitamin d can help. And also, just get as much sunlight as you can. A sun lamp might also be helpful.

Put yourself in a drug induced coma until summer
