Is anyone else dissatisfied with the wide-screen format of the new panel TVs?

Update:

I have a 2003 Sony Trinitron (CRT), 32" set (with pretty damn good picture quality, and a kind of compromise format between the traditional square TV format and the wide-screen one), and the very wide (but not so tall) format seems...

Update 2:

...kind've weird to me. It also may be a bit hard to fit a new set in the old space. Though, with most motion pictures released now, I’ll probably see more of the screen content...

Update 3:

than I currently do (and the picture quality may be augmented somewhat with an HD set).

Update 4:

Put another way, unless one has a really colossal size set, watching it on these new models seems like watching on a computer monitor, and just doesn’t seem to “get it” for me.

I find them easy to get used to. 2 gripes though. 1, a 32 inch widescreen looks only slightly bigger than a 27 inch tube TV, and similarly a 40 inch widescreen looks only slightly bigger than a 36 inch tube TV. 2, though it hasn't caught on much we now have a few new TV's that are "curved", only curved to sorta face you as opposed to the other way around. Still, I'm of the belief that a big reason for getting a flat panel TV is that it IS flat, not curved.....in any direction. Also resolution is overrated, HD is cool, but it ain't nearly as big of a deal as it was originally made out to be.

No. 95% of what I watch is properly formatted for 16 by 9.
