if V1 = 3v and V3 = 2v what is V2? series circuit pic below?

    The resistors are in series, so the voltage difference add:

    10V = V1 + V2 + V3

    10V = 3V + V2 + 2V = V2 + 5V .... substitute for V1,V3 and simplify

    5V = V2 .... Subtract 5V from both

    10v - 3v - 2v = 5v
