If that's the wrong reading....then it'd say the house should end up being white. Due to the vagueness of the will, my assumption would be the instructions were intended to be followed in sequence. Paint it black, then paint it white. That's because, typically, saying "paint the house" means "paint the entire house." If not, you could just paint one splotch of black, and one splotch of white, and leave the rest of the house as is to fulfill the request.

BQ: I believe the capacity to make moral judgments is a product of evolution. However, it doesn't seem that any specific moral code is rooted in evolution.

Morality is the brain's system of feelings and rewards. When we do something "good" to help someone, we are rewarded in our brain and we feel good. Psychopaths cannot perceive emotions the same since their brain does not have a balanced reward system.
