Are male children systematically abused by stereotypes (not emotional, self reliant etc)?

Making them inflict pain and social isolation upon them selves to identify with a maleness image)?

Update:

@ the males: Yes the bread winner role is indeed a heavy burden on men their shoulders, but could you tell me if you have inflicted pain on yourself with following stereotypes? Would you have been more social without these?

We are expected to be productive. Workers. Providers. Beasts of Burden. There are no shelters for men. No government money for unwed fathers. Women are expected to be taken care.

I believe this is an issue for a lot of boys. The idea that gender stereotypes are only harmful to women is not really true. Hiding sadness and negative emotions, bottling them up and not talking about them is a recipe for suicide and males commit suicide in way too high numbers.

actually, men are systematically abused by stereotypes.

men are expected to be breadwinners, not only for their own families, but also for the welfare state, which adds a greater burden on their earnings.

women, both married and unmarried, expect to be provided for by the work that men do.

additionally, many wives place unreasonable financial demands on their husbands.

because of this behavior on the part of their mothers, male children are given the unspoken message that they must work themselves to death in order to please women.
