Reverse Racism: African American Female...Why?

Hi, I have had this problem for a long time. I am African American young female and in college. Any time I encounter other black girls they are really standoffish to me and give me the stink eye. For instance in class today, this one black girl I befriended walked right past me when I said hi. I have not done anything. I find Caucasian, Asian, and Latino people treat me so much nicer and I have become friends with them. I don't understand this reverse racism! I look black, I have brown skin, I wear braids. There is really nothing envious about me according to the black community, I do not have light skin or really wavy hair( not that I think it is right). I love who I am. I don't think I am better than anyone. What is happening?

This is very strange. Maybe you needed to give us more information. Is there something about you that's turning them off? How do you think you come off to people like them? Ask someone their opinion so you can gain some insight. If you're doing nothing wrong, and you really, are sure of this, then don't pay attention to them. Continue excluding positive energy and be open to decent people of all races that want to befriend you. I'm sure it's not a black thing. Maybe its has something to do with the types of girls that go to your school. Good luck.

First, "reverse racism" is egalitarianism. Second, there is something wrong with the person who was rude to you. Whether she is the same race or a different one, rude is rude. There is no getting away from or around that. The problem is her and hers, not you, Don't let it bother you. If anything, feel sorry for her. Perhaps some day she will know better.

I'm a white guy so i really don't know too much about this. So i could easily be way wrong. But years ago we used to call white guys "Posers" they grew up in really nice area . but then tried to act cool by acting like black rapper, gangsta guys who used what they thought was typical black slang . We didn't want to hang out with them because the were perceived as being fake... I wonder if it works the other way around... could it be that they perceive you as being fake by acting "too white"?

Like i said I could easily be wrong.. and i hope i didn't offend anyone. That was not my intent.

    It's probably your personality.
