if your a zombie and your body is essentially dead and in a state of decay, then why does a zombie need to eat.?

Because when there a zombie, whatever brings them back goes straight for the part of the brain that controls there hunger, causing them to want to eat whatever the "thing" Deems edible. Hope this helped!
