What happen's to the person who abandons everybody to chase his dream?

Will his heart grow cold?

Will he feel fulfilled?

Will he be glad to have done what he was scared to do?

Will he discover it was a mistake?

Is he a bad person?

on the other hand, it is often the person who breaks from the herd, who is separated from family, friends, and relatives. when orthodoxy is the rule, then the ostracization of those different is the norm.

however, if your dream is big enough, and means something to you, then follow it.

if your family loves you, they will follow. that is unless they think differently, then you are out of luck. you have lost one group of people, but you do gain a different one.

it is more important to care for your family, then the one from which you came.

    definition: ostracizing.

1.to exclude, by general consent, from society, friendship, conversation, privileges, etc.:

His friends ostracized him after his father's arrest.

    2. to banish (a person) from his or her native country; expatriate.

3.(in ancient Greece) to banish (a citizen) temporarily by popular vote.

suppose you want "world peace". you might be the only one who does. won't that make you pretty unpopular?

    Depends on the person...

Why would they be a 'bad' person?

That would depend upon the person and their dream.

he either dies in the wilderness or is killed by thieves and murderers. OR, he finds his dream, eventually, and find grace and favor in righteousness with God and then sanctification unto exaltation, worlds without end.
