    1. Compared to many other forums on y!a IMO the questions and answers are actually fairly good. Of course this assertion has to meet a very low standard. The variety here is actually refreshing compared to frequent questions elsewhere. For example. "I did not use birth control. Could I be pregnant?" "I just smashed my finger with a hammer. How long will it hurt?"

    2. The business purpose of this web site has nothing to do with answering or asking questions. That is secondary. Until the money runs out both sides enjoy a form of mutual parasitism.

    3. Are some students lazy, unappreciative and eager to cheat? Of course. If I want intelligent discussions with world famous experts, I launch my newsreader and read net news. If I want entertainment, some interesting puzzles and a reminder of what average really means, I come here.

There are too many ingrates here. I have decided not to answer any more Y!A questions. Students here want all of their work done for them, and complain at any suggestion that they should proof their questions or do a tiny bit of thinking, or work themselves. They learn nothing from the only sort of answers they consider acceptable.
