Even if the victim didn't want to "press charges" (file a criminal complaint), hospitals are required to report gunshot wounds to the police, and the police would likely charge you with discharge of a firearm in an occupied dwelling or discharge of a firearm in a residential area or reckless endangerment or malicious wounding or general stupidity.

In my state, you would be charged with negligent handling of a dangerous weapon if he lived, and manslaughter if he died.
Shooting someone is illegal. One person can not give another person permission to break the law.

If you are stupid enough to do such a thing you should not be allowed to use guns.

I believe it'd still be a crime, even if they did ask you to.
