A hot October(109F) in Australia is this global warming?

    No, but it could contribute to the evidence. Climate is different from weather in the same way that tactics differs from strategy. One concerns short term occurrences, the other long-term trends. Those who say "Ah, yes, but we had heavy snowfall last winter!" do not understand what they are attempting to talk about. Climate trends take place over decades or centuries and concern established patterns in averaged measurements. Unfortunately the morally bankrupt (those with vested interests and political splashes to make) cynically exploit the apparent inability of many people to grasp this fact.
